Pickled red onions add a briny, tangy pop of flavor to salads, wraps, and sandwiches. They're quick to prepare, you can make them sweet or SPICY!

Serves: 1½ cups
Ingredients
1 large red onion, sliced into thick slices
¼ cup of orange juice
2 tablespoons of lime juice
1 teaspoon of coarse sea salt
2 springs of fresh oregano chopped
1 garlic clove minced
¼ teaspoon cracked black pepper
Instructions
Turn oven to broil
Place onion slices on a baking pan
Broil onions until tender and slightly charred for approximately 8 minutes. Turn once halfway throughout the broiling process.
Allow onions to cool, then remove any areas of the onion that are overly charred. Separate onions into ringlets.
In a medium bowl combine onions, orange juice, lime juice, sea salt, oregano, garlic, and black pepper. Cover and refrigerate for up to 2 hours or up to 24 hours for deep marination.
Notes
Add to sandwiches, wraps, salads, tacos, or veggie burgers. Enjoy!
