APPLE CRISP

Serves: 6-7 ramekins
- FILLING:
- 5 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, chopped small
- ¼ cup finely chopped pecans
- 3 Tablespoons spelt flour
- 1/2 Cup brown sugar
- 2 Tablespoons Maple syrup
- 1 Tablespoons lemon juice
- TOPPING:
- ¾ Cup of Spelt flour
- ⅓ Cup brown sugar
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon pink salt
- 6 Tablespoons chilled Earth Balance Soy Free Butter, cut into pieces
- ¼ Cup chopped pecans
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a bowl mix the filling ingredients together. Transfer 1 cup of filling into each ramekin.
- In a separate bowl mix the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt in large bowl. Blend the butter into the mixture until it forms pea-size crumbles.
- Stir in pecans and sprinkle over the filling.
- Place the ramekins on a baking sheet.
- Bake crisps for 35 to 40 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
